Restoration Gateway Ministries is a non-profit 501 (c)(3), church and ministry which operates for the purpose of bringing hope, healing, and restoration to those who have suffered from a broken heart. God’s healing and victory in our lives isn’t just for us; it is also for each life we touch as we are equipped and released to fulfill the call on our lives to bless others.
As preparations were made to name and establish this ministry, the Lord expressed His desire to love, restore and equip his people for victory through the book of Nehemiah in the Holy Bible.
Nehemiah was commissioned by God to lead a group of returning exiles to rebuild the walls and hang the gates around the city of Jerusalem many years after the enemy had destroyed it. Although the temple of God had already been restored, the city was defenseless without the wall and the people hesitated to rebuild there.
This can be an illustration for our lives. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He restores our spirit (the temple) and fills it with the Holy Spirit. But many times our soul (the city) is in desperate need of restoration where the enemy has come in and brought destruction through sin.
As we confess, repent and renounce the sin in our lives, and receive forgiveness, the enemy can be driven out. To keep the enemy out we need to rebuild the walls with prayer and healthy choices which represent boundaries for the soul (mind, will and emotions), body and spirit. The gates placed around the wall symbolize the will and the choices we make; what we choose to let in and what we keep out.
Ministers at Restoration Gateway join you as “Repairers of the Breach” (Isaiah 58:12) in the wall as were those who joined Nehemiah in the rebuilding project.
In Nehemiah 4:17 the people had a brick in one hand and a sword in the other, as they set their hearts to the task of rebuilding. As you choose to rebuild the walls and hang the gates, the scripture says, “Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.” Isaiah 60:18
Partnered with God, we can rebuild our lives for His glory.
